"Ruins to Rapids" Full Moon Hike

This 1.5-mile hike is moderately difficult and goes down to the Civil War-era textile mill ruins of New Manchester and follows the lovely rapids (up to class IV) of Sweetwater Creek. A flashlight and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required. No children under 6 or dogs. Meet inside the Visitor's Center. Reservations required. $6 plus $5 parking. 770-732-5871.

Late Winter/Early Spring Wildflower Hike

This moderately strenuous, two mile hike along the white trail and beyond will take us through a variety of lovely habitats to view the earliest of our spring wildflowers, the beloved "ephemerals". Registration recommended. Meet at the Visitor's Center. $6 plus $5 parking. 770-732-5871.

Birding the Battlefield
March 26th - Saturday; 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site


A hike through the battlefield of Pickett's Mill for a beginners birding outing. There will be some history of the site as we look for birds. Birds could be found in the fields, woods or along the stream at this gorgeous site. Bring your own binoculars. This program is provided through an AmeriCorps grant and with the assistance of AmeriCorps volunteer rangers. Admission: $3-$5.50. For Additional Information, Call 770-443-7850.
